Die FAU punktet mit Geisteswissenschaften beim THE Fächerranking. Die FAU kommt im Feld Arts & Humanities weltweit auf Platz 79, in Deutschland auf Platz 9.

From 2001 to 2004 the Department of Sinology at FAU hosted an International Quality Network. The IQN set high value on promoting young scholars, and to this day, 17 people from this group are holding a professorship. In October 2015, a conference was held to appreciate these extraordinary stories of success as well as develop perspectives for the future.

Das Bayerische Hochschulzentrum für Lateinamerika (BAYLAT) schreibt erneut eine Mobilitätshilfe für Studierende bayerischer Hochschulen aus, die für 2016 einen Studien-, Forschungs- oder Praktikumsaufenthalt in Lateinamerika planen. Bewerbungsschluss für alle drei Programmlinien ist Montag, der 16.11.2015.
